Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport
previously
named Hasanuddin International Airport, the airport is located 30 km from the
city of Makassar, South Sulawesi province. The airport is operated by PT.
Angkasa Pura I. Although the status of international airport, since October 28,
2006 until July 2008 was no exception flights on international routes pilgrims
after the last international route Hasanuddin Garuda Indonesia, Singapore
closed down because of losses. Previously, Silk Air and Malaysia Airlines have
to first shut down their international routes to Hasanuddin.
Air
Asia to reopen the Makassar-Kuala Lumpur route starting July 25, 2008. Followed
Garuda Indonesia Makassar reopening of direct flights to Singapore from June 1,
2011. The airport is undergoing a process of expansion and development that
began in 2004 and is scheduled for completion in 2009. Between the part of the
development is a new passenger terminal with a capacity of 7 million passengers
per year, apron (aircraft parking lot) with a capacity of seven wide-bodied
aircraft, the new runway 3,100 meters long x 45 meters, and taxiways. Operation
of the new terminal began on August 4, 2008 by using a long runway for a new
runway is still being worked on. Now, Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport's
new Apron Operate, new runway and a taxiway fruit.
Runway
extension phase 2 of 3.100 meters to 3.500 meters will begin to be implemented
between the end of 2011 or early 2012, after the land acquisition implemented.
Runway extension is intended to allow the future to accommodate wide-bodied
aircraft such as the Boeng 747 maximum
